Nurturing Well-Being, One Fragrance at a Time

Working in social care has taught me just how important it is to find little moments of calm in the middle of busy lives. Sometimes it’s a quiet evening at home, a familiar scent filling the room, or simply taking a few minutes for yourself. That appreciation for those small moments is a big part of why I created Mountain View Melts.

Based in County Down, Mountain View Melts is an indie Northern Irish fragrance house, founded from my love of fragrance, creativity and making things by hand. What started as a genuine passion has grown into a small business built around creating beautiful scents that make a home feel warm, welcoming and personal.

The name Mountain View Melts was inspired by the Mourne Mountains, which I can see in the distance from my workshop. They are such a familiar part of the landscape around me, and their changing seasons, rugged beauty and quiet presence have become a natural source of inspiration for the brand.

I love creating fragrances that tell a story. Some are inspired by the places around us... windswept coastlines, countryside walks and the beauty of Northern Ireland. While others are simply about those comforting moments we all know: a cosy evening at home, fresh linen, a peaceful morning or that feeling of having nowhere else you need to be.

Everything is made by hand in small batches in County Down, from blending each fragrance to pouring and finishing every item. I use natural soy wax and vegan-friendly ingredients wherever possible, with care taken over every detail.

For me, Mountain View Melts has never just been about making something that smells lovely. It’s about creating atmosphere. It’s about the memories a scent can bring back, the feeling it can create in a room, and those small moments of comfort that can make an ordinary day feel a little better.
